Bodek Lounge, Houston Hall
3417 Spruce Street
Philadelphia, PA 19104
Presented by University of Pennsylvania
Career Services & Penn Abroad, Office of International Programs
We will meet once every two weeks and when events come up, we will meet once a week.
Our next meeting will be on Thursday, 29th of October, 5:30pm at Huntsman GSR Rm 366
Our committee is currently planning….
Movie Night: A tentative idea – BYO international food with an international-theme movie such as Crash, Babel, or something else.
American Sports Event: A gathering once in a while to watch an American sport together – most likely a Phillies game!
Committee dinner: There will be an AIS US Engagement Committee Dinner this Friday, after our committee meeting at 4:30pm. The location will be announced soon!
Community Service event: Every year, the AIS US Engagement Committee does a community service event for some local elementary/middle school students. We are looking for a different school to help out this year, and this event will most likely take place in November.
BYO event: US engagement committee has been assigned the task of organizing BYO events for the AIS as a whole.
Let’s tell incoming students how amazing and welcoming Penn and AIS is!! As international students, you know how confusing and uncertain the process can seem – we would like to offer this as a way to connect students to campus and learn about what life at Penn is like directly from Penn students! This fall, International chats will be held on the following dates.
Monday, October 26th 2pm-5pm for Europe, Africa, Middle East
Thursday, October 29th 6pm-9pm for Mexico, Central America, South America and Canada
Wednesday, November 4th 9am-12pm for Middle East, Asia, Australia and New Zealand
If you are available to help for at least an hour (preferably two!) during any of those sessions, please send an email to jordanpa@admissions.upenn.edu with your availability.
You can still get involved, and remember, you are more than welcome to join as many committees as you want to! If you want to have yourself added to another committee listserv, e-mail the secretary (Rekha Jois -rejois@seas.upenn.edu) with the name of the committee you would like to join.
