Advocacy Committee and the Student Ambassador Program

June 21, 2010 5:00 pm

This year, the Advocacy Committee has bloomed and many of our past projects have been put in practice. The greatest success of this past year was, without a doubt, the Student Ambassador Program. More than 30 current Penn students were trained to become Ambassadors. With the help of the Admissions Office and Kite and Key, they are now ready to represent Penn and to teach high school students from local international schools about admissions in the United States college system and about all the benefits that Penn has to offer. The next wave of Student Ambassadors will be trained in the fall. If you are interested in participating, keep your eyes open for our next training sessions.

If you want to participate in organizing the sessions, join the Advocacy Committee in the fall!

But this is not the only achievement or program of the committee in the past year! In April, the committee supervised the Yield project – through which newly admitted students were paired with current Penn undergraduates in order to receive guidance and support throughout the decision process.

Another project of the committee is the Winter Housing Project, which gives the opportunity to international Penn students who live in the low rises and can’t go home for the winter break to live in a high rise room during the break.
